The spilling of innocent blood by suspected herdsmen in Benue state continued on Thursday with the invasion of another church where seven people were reported killed.
Thursday’s attack occurred at a church and a primary school in Logo local government area (LGA) of the state.
According to Richard Nyajo, chairman of Logo local government, herdsmen were responsible for the attack.
Nyago told newsmen that the herdsmen invaded three villages in Mbamondo clan in early hours of the day, opening fire on people who were asleep in the church and school.
The victims, he said, were taking refuge at the church following displacement from their communities.
He said seven dead bodies had already recovered from the attack which started from Mondo settlement village in the LGA.
The attack is coming two days after two priests and 17 worshipers were shot dead at a Catholic church in Gwer West local government area of the state.
Also on Wednesday, 16 persons were reportedly killed in Guma local government area of Benue.
Benue state Deputy Governor while reacting to Tuesday’s attack that lead to the death of two Catholic church priests said that Benue killings can no longer be attributed to farmers and herdsmen crisis.
