Chidi Okoh || Massive Construction Work have finally commenced at the Ibeno end of the 55. 1 Km (multiple Lanes) Ibom Super Highway after an initial set back
The super Highway as conceived by the state government will be the major gateway to the Ibom deep sea port which will soon come on stream.
The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Works Mr. Ephraim Inynag Eyen who led a team of Engineers and Journalists to the site yesterday explained that the gigantic project is being handled and funded through the alternative funding approach with the EBLA Construction Company Ltd.

The Commissioner noted that the super Highway upon completion will open up the state to the Ibom Deep Sea Port which will positively reinvigorate the State Economy once business commences at the port
According to the commissioner, “Lagos and Port Harcourt are presently the major commercial nerve centers of the country because of the presence of the ports. Ibom Deep Seaport once it’s operational will change greatly the fortunes of our dear state and lots of youths will be too busy to remember we have oil companies here”.
Mr. Ephraim Inyang Eyen assured the EBLA group of conducive environment to do their job and urge the youths of the area to extend maximum cooperation to the firm.
Construction work on Ibom Highway
He urged the construction firm to ensure that youths are carried along in the construction of the project by employing them in their areas of competence stressing that it will enhance cordiality and progress of the job.
He announced that the State Government will in two weeks’ time return and pay compensation to farmers over the crops damaged in the process of construction of the road project and called for their maximum corporation in this regards.
On his own, the Managing Director of EBLA Construction firm, Mr. Chinedu Chukwuonye expressed gratitude to the State Government for the opportunity to be part of the infrastructural transformation going on in the State.

He assured the Governor, that the job will be done according to specifications, stressing that the company have already engaged the services of youths of the area in the construction of the Super Highway.
On his own, the youth leader in the area, Mr. Iboro Usen assured the Governor, that they will cooperate with the firm to ensure speedy completion of the project.
He expressed gratitude to the Governor for working hard to ensure the realization of the Ibom Deep Sea Port stressing that unemployment will be drastically reduced with the commencement of the port project.
