EFCC sets up ‘crack team’ to investigate Babachir Lawal

Ebun Francis || The Economic and Financial Crime Commission has set up a crack team to investigate the details of the N200m grass cutting scandal against the sacked former secretary to the government of the federation, Babachir Lawal.

The team made of special officers of the anti-graft agency will examine every aspect of the grass cutting contract in the displaced peoples camp in the north east.

Channels Television reports that a source in the anti graft agency informed it of the development.

Babachir Lawal the former SGF and Ayodele oke, the former DG of NIIA recently lost their jobs following allegations of corruption and abuse of office levelled against them.

In announcing their dismissal as directed by President Buhari, the Presidency said that both will be prosecuted by the relevant agencies.

Oke and his wife were invited for interrogation by the EFCC on Wednesday.
