Uruan Youths Laud Gov. Emmanuel Over Projects

Tony Okoh || Encomiums and Commendations have continued to trail the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Emmanuel from the youths of the Uruan Local Government area Akwa Ibom state for the construction of 19km Anua Mbak eshiet Road linking several communities majorly Uruan South, Central, and North.

Hitherto, indigenes of Uruan South and Central do travel to Uyo the State capital before they could link up with their Kinsmen in the Northern part of the Local Government Area.

Giving the commendation on behalf of the entire Youths of the area, the youth president Mr. Savour Edem Effiong, expressed deep-seated gratitude to Governor Emmanuel for keeping his promise to the people of Uruan with the construction of the road among several other roads in the area.

“We are pleased and grateful to Governor and will give him maximum support in his re-election in 2019, Uruan is PDP and we will support the Party wholeheartedly. The Governor has brought succor and big relieve to us after several years of suffering, we have had promises from politicians but this is one promise kept and we will cooperate with the contractors to ensure timely completion of the project” he said.

On his own, the State Commissioner for Works, Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen who was on project tour of the area told the youths that the Governor in keeping promises to the people have not only done the road but equally pay compensations for properties on the right of way and other farm crops damaged in the cause of constructing the new road.

He appealed to them to ensure total cooperation with the contractors handling the project regretting that with the setting in of the rainy season, Government is in a hurry to drive the projects to an appreciable level.

The Commissioner advised those who received money for the compensation to vacate the property immediately as no delay will be tolerated.
