The son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Andrew Obasanjo has endorsed the second term ambition of President Muhammadu Buhari.
The not very well known son of Nigeria’s two-time leader made his support for President Buhari known in a letter he wrote to the Buhari Campaign Organisation on Wednesday.
The spokesman of the Buhari campaign organisation, Festus Keyamo shared the content of the with newsmen.
The letter read, “Dear Sir, please find attached a statement of my public declaration and support for the 2019 second term re-election bid of our highly esteemed President Buhari.”
“I have taken a personal decision to release the statement and to notify you of my availability to work for the re-election of our dear President Muhammadu Buhari with sincerity and loyalty.
“Please accept my assurances of the highest regards.”
Elder statesman and former president, Olusegun Obasanjo is opposed to Buhari’s second term aspirations.
In a widely publicised letter earlier in the year, Obasanjo asked Buhari not to present himself for re-election given his poor performance in office.
