2003: My presidential project will not be deterred by late night demarketing – Fayemi

Ebun Francis| The Fayemi campaign organisation has reacted to the report that Ekiti state governor was pressured into dropping his presidential ambition for vice-president Yemi Osinbajo.

The campaign organisation spokesman, Femi Ige, who reacted to the reports in a statement, described the insinuation as “absolute rubbish”.

According to Ige, is “favourably positioned” and has the backing of the ruling party’s “real stakeholders.”

“[It is] absolute rubbish. No meeting took place between us and any aspirant about stepping down,” the statement reads.

“We are undoubtedly among the leading aspirants for the position and one to watch in the race.

“Our candidate has deep trust and respect among political leaders in the party and also from fellow governors who form a critical mass in the decision making process.”
