Tony Okoh || The Akwa Ibom State Governor, Mr. Udom Gabriel Emmanuel said the present year will usher in unprecedented harvest of quality roads network across the three senatorial districts of the state.
Governor Emmanuel who spoke through the State Commissioner for Works Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, when he led a team of Engineers and journalists to the inspection of ongoing road projects across the state said his Ministry was working round the clock to ensure that the projects are done according to specifications and delivered on time for Akwa Ibom people.

Mr Inyang-eyen who addressed Newsmen after inspecting the newly dualised 23 kilometers uyo -etinan- eket road and 29 kilometer etinan- ndon uyo road which stretches through five local governments of Uyo, Etinan, Nsit Ibom, Nsit Ubium into Eket Local Government area again reiterated the determination of Governor Udom Emmanuel to open up the three Senatorial Districts with good roads network and infrastructures.
The Works Commissioner who expressed delight on the pace and quality of work done on the roads commended the two contractors handling the project, WE Construction and CCEC for the job well done.

He pleaded with communities through which the road traverses to continue to cooperate with government and the construction firms to ensure speedy completion of the project.
He charged those whose properties were affected by the construction of the road to immediately relocate as they get their compensation in order not to derail the project.
The Commissioner explained that, the vision of Governor Udom Emmanuel is to ensure that all roads are linked and the rural areas connected to urban centers to enhance development and economic growth.

He expressed confidence that when completed, the 29 kilometers, Uyo – Etinan- Ndon Eyo dual carriage roads, the Uyo- Ikot Ekpene dual carriageway and Uyo – Oron road will open up the three Senatorial Districts of the State completely to commerce, Industrialization, and tourism.

During the inspection tour, illegal structures erected along the roads with a view to extract compensation from the State government were demolished while adequate compensations were paid to genuine property owners affected by the dualisation of the roads.
Youths and community leaders who spoke to newsmen thanked Governor Udom Emmanuel for the road projects and pledged to support the contractors and accord them the conducive environment to complete the projects
