2019 : Atiku kicks off campaign, attacks Buhari of abandoning him after using his money to win election

Ebun Francis || Hours after the minister of women affairs, Alhassan Aisha came out openly to declare her support for Atiku Abubakar ahead of 2019 presidential election, the former vice president himself came out swinging in an interview with the voice of America accusing president Buhari of abandoning him after using his resources and connection to win the 2015 presidential election.

The interview granted to the Hausa service of VOA and first published by Daily Trust when matched with Alhassan’s interview and the leaked video of her loyalty pledge is the clearest indication yet the former vice president is gearing up for the presidential election.

Atiku was quoted to have said, “Honestly speaking, I’m still a member of the APC; I was part of all the processes, including campaigns until success was achieved.”

“But sadly, soon after the formation of government; I was side-lined, I have no any relationship with the government, I’ve not been contacted even once to comment on anything and in turn, I maintained my distance. They used our money and influence to get to where they’re but three years down the lane, this is where we are.”

The presidency is yet to respond to Atiku’s outburst.
