2023 Guber: Avoid hate speeches  during campaign, Oku Ibom Ibibio urges  Onofiok Luke

Chidi Tony| The Oku Ibom Ibibio and President General of Akwa Ibom State Traditional Rulers Council, Ntenyin (Dr.) Solomon Etuk has urged one of the Frontline aspirants in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in Akwa Ibom State, Onofiok Luke, Esq to continue to maintain his polite political communication devoid of hate speeches during and after the electioneering campaign period.
Oku Ibom Ibibio, who is also the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium LGA, also applauded the lawmaker and governorship hopeful for his level of maturity, comportment, and conduct exhibited so far since the commencement of electioneering exercise.
Ntenyin Etuk made the commendations when Onofiok Luke, a lawyer, led his Amazing Grace Gubernatorial campaign team on a consultative meeting at the palace of Oku Ibom Ibibio at Ikot Ukobo, Nsit Ubium LGA, Wednesday.
Describing Luke as a dynamic, energetic, and vibrant young leader, the Patriarch urged the gubernatorial aspirant to continue to tow the path of peace and steps that would be in best interest of the state and humanity.
“You are young, dynamic, and energetic man full of zeal and enthusiasm to offer leadership to the people. God has endowed you with these qualities, I urge you to maximize them wisely. Always let the spirit of God lead your footsteps into taking decision that will be in the best interest of your community, Akwa Ibom State, and humanity,” Oku Ibom advised.
The patriarch of Ibibio nation who maintained that their duty as traditional rulers was not to endorse or adopt any aspirant but to preach peace, unity, and stability of Akwa Ibom State, opined that no meaningful development could thrive in an atmosphere of rancour, acrimony, and chaos.
He prayed for a fruitful and successful end to his governorship electioneering campaign and aspiration.
 Oku Ibom IBIBIO who is also the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubuim LGA enjoined all political class and aspirants in the forthcoming 2023 elections to shun acts capable of creating tension, during and after electioneering campaign period.
Speaking earlier, the 2023 governorship aspirant, Barrister Onofiok Luke said he was at the palace to inform Oku Ibom Ibibio and Nsit Ubium Traditional Rulers Council of his intention to contest for the office of the governor of the State after a wide consultation with Akwa Ibom people and receive hid prayers and blessings for the journey ahead
Onofiok Luke, who is the current Member representing Etinan, Nsit Ubuim, and Nsit Ibom Federal Constituency said he had long prepared for the governorship top job since 2020 and had consulted Governor Udom Emmanuel, who according to him, has also given him the go-ahead.
While appreciating the efforts of previous and present administration in the State, Luke said his government will focus on building the capacity of Akwa Ibom people to match with the 21-century realities, adding that currently, the people and their welfare have been left behind in the economic growth of the state.
 “We will bridge the gap and sustain human capital developement of Akwa Ibom People. Anybody who wants to govern the state must have time to x-ray the state and how his programme will affect and positively impact the state,” Luke stressed
While soliciting the support of all and sundry to prosecute the project, the governorship hopeful promised to sustain the legacies of Governors Attah, Akpabio, Udom Emmanuel as well as others who have contributed positively in furtherance and advancement of the socio-economic development of the State
