Two feared dead as police, Shi’ites clash in Kano

Two people have been reportedly killed in a clash between police and the shi’ia religious sect in Kano state, north-west Nigeria.

A female member of the sect and a leader of the group identified as Sunusi Abdulkadir are believed to be the victims, according to The Cable.

According to eyewitness account, the clash started after the police tried to disperse the group’s procession along the popular Lado overhead bridge along Zaria road in Kano metropolis.
