ANAMBRA GUBER POLL: No one will Boycott election-IGBOEZUE

Everest Ezihe || As plans have been advanced to conduct peaceful, free and fair Governorship election in Anambra State by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) this Saturday, Igboezue International has assured Nigerians that the state electorate will not boycott the crucial election and described those clamouring for the election boycott as enemies of the state and anti-democratic elements.
Igboezue International which is a socio-cultural pressure group stated this in a press statement endorsed by Comrade Law Egbomuche-Okeke Jnr who is the organization’s National Director for Anti-Corruption and Human Rights and made available to newsmen in Owerri Thursday.
According to the group ‘We have observed the proliferation of printed documents being circulated within Anambra State and its environ, asking people to boycott the state’s governorship election scheduled to hold this Saturday, on grounds of marginalization and for self-autonomy”.
Igboezue pointed out that even though the agitators are entitled to their own opinion but informed that it is only a Court of competent Jurisdiction that could by order, direct that the election should be barred or boycott and since there is no such order, that any person or group of persons doing so is only acting on the frolic of its own deceit and therefore considered ultra vires and of no effect.
The group insisted that any such calls to abrogate or boycott this Saturday Anambra State Governorship Election, is a call to totally un-democratized the state, unwarranted self-disenfranchisement of Ndi-Anambra and therefore, unacceptable.
Igboezue International further described the calls as “An irrational and subjective opinions based on political ignorance and naivety. It is also a deliberate attempt deemed at corrupting the state’s political system, which is highly condemnable” they noted.
The socio-cultural organisation passionately appealed to Anambra state electorate to take their destiny and that of their future generations into their hands by coming out, en masse tomorrow being Saturday and exercise their franchise which they equally stated as fundamental.
