Two Of Four Missing Policemen Found In Benue

Ebun Francis || Two of the four policemen declared missing by the Benue State Police Command on Saturday following an ambush by suspected Fulani herdsmen have been found unhurt.

The Commissioner of Police in the state, Mr. Fatai Owoseni, confirmed the recovery of the two officers to newsmen on Sunday.

Two of the officers are still missing but the Commissioner is optimistic that they would equally return to base safely.

Owoseni said, “Yes, I can confirm that two out of the four policemen declared missing after Saturdays’ attack on our patrol team in Ayilamo by suspected herdsmen, have rejoined their colleague unhurt.”

“We are hoping that the other two policemen will rejoin the team safely,” he added.

The four policemen got missing on Saturday after suspected herdsmen ambushed a police mobile force patrol team in Logo LGA.

The attackers set one of the patrol vehicles ablaze during the ambush which occurred around 2:30 pm when the policemen were returning from an operation in some villages in the local government.
