Akwa Ibom State Governor Mr. Udom Emmanuel has reiterated the determination of his administration to sustain the ongoing revolution in roads and other infrastructural development across the state.
The governor who made the assertions yesterday through the State Commissioner for Works Mr. Ephraim Inyang-Eyen, during his regular tour of road projects noted that government has engaged competent contractors who have the necessary capacity to deliver the jobs on schedule.
He particularly expressed happiness with the quality and pace of work at ongoing 19 km Etinan-Ndonuyo road stressing that the flow of job at the site is more like a miracle.

According to him, “For instance, the flow and pace of work at Etinan- Ndon Eyo Road is almost like a miracle, we make reasonable progress every week on that road and I must commend Witzchino Engineering for a quality job. Again government is taking advantage of the dry season to step up roads construction in the entire State. Governor Udom Emmanuel’s milestones so far in projects delivery to the people is out of God’s benevolence and the support of the people”, the Commissioner said.

He assured that with the availability of more funds for payment of compensation, the work tempo will increase in many project sites across the state.
“What the government is avoiding is releasing the entire money to pay for compensation alone and there is no money to continue the major road work. So, what we do is to take a small percentage of the money released to the contractor for compensation so that when we pay, the contractor continues his job unhindered with the remaining funds”, the Commissioner explained.

Inyang-eyen noted that despite the poor economic situation in the country, the government of Mr. Udom Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom has made everything possible to put the State on sound footing to allow businesses thrive and make lives more meaningful for the people.
He urged Akwa Ibomites to pray for an improved economy to enable the Governor to do more while appealing for support and solidarity for the government as democracy dividends are spread to every nook and cranny of the state.

Yesterday Projects tour took the team to the ongoing construction of Uyo – Ikot Ekpene Highway, Uyo – Etinan Road, Etinan- Ndonuyo Road, the remodeling, and beautification work at the Eket city, among other sites.
