Ebun Francis || Suspected herdsmen on Thursday night killed five persons including three siblings in an attack in Nzharuvo Village of Miango, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The attack occurred while President Muhammadu Buhari is on a two-day official visit to Plateau State.
The President of Irigwe Youth movement, Chinge Dodo said the attackers unleashed the mayhem on Thursday night.
According to him, two people died instantly in the attack while three other injured people who are siblings died in the hospital.
Dodo said that a family was thrown into mourning as a result of the attack which left three members dead.
He said, ”Twins brother’s in the family named Emmanuel and Christopher Joseph aged 16 years and their younger sister, Peace Joseph aged six were among those that were killed”.
One of the survivors is currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital.
When contacted, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Tyopev Mathias said the police could not confirm the incident.
President Buhari had on Wednesday while launching the Plateau peace road map at a town hall meeting during his visit to the vowed to bring to an end the vicious cycle of violence and lay the foundation for sustainable peace in the nation.
It appears the herdsmen has other ideas.
