A federal high court sitting in Osogbo, Osun state, on Wednesday granted an order compelling the national assembly to begin impeachment process against President Muhammadu Buhari.
Maureen Onyetenu, the judge, gave the ex parte order following a motion filed by Kanmi Ajibola, chairman, Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Ilesa branch; and Suleiman Adeniyi, a human rights activist.
Alleging that Buhari breached the constitution, they had written to the national assembly to begin impeachment process against the president.
They also claimed that Buhari did not possess a certificate to be qualified as a president and should be impeached.
In her ruling, Onyetenu granted the leave to compel the national assembly to commence impeachment process against the president.
