I did not speak with Tinubu about Ambode’s second term bid- Pastor Adeboye

Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, has denied having a telephone conversation with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, about the second term ambition of the Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

The disclaimer was in response to a report over the weekend which alleged that Adeboye had, in a telephone conversation with Tinubu, appealed to him to support Ambode’s second term ambition.

In a message shared on his verified Twitter handle and Facebook page on Sunday, the respected man of God said he has never and would not be involved in partisan politics.

The post said, Pastor Adeboye “has not and would not be involved in inter /intraparty politics in Nigeria and anywhere RCCG is present across the world.”

Pastor Adeboye, however, urged Nigerians to get their Permanent Voter Cards and exercise their civic duty in the 2019 general election.

“Pastor E.A Adeboye advises all well-meaning Nigerians just like him to get their PVCs and exercise their civic duty.”

The media has been awash recently with news of the allegedly falling out between Lagos state governor Akinwumi Ambode and his godfather, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
