The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the Osun rerun election, has described the Thursday’s exercise as a coup.
Adeleke told Punch, “What is happening in Osun State now is not an election. What we have is a coup. That is what we are witnessing now.”
“Our supporters are being harassed and are not allowed to vote at all. Let the whole world know that this is not the democracy.”
Adeleke’s comment followed the news of the invasion of some polling centres by armed thugs in an attempt to disrupt the election.
Earlier at unit 17, ward 5, Osogbo local government area of Osun state around 12 pm unit 17, ward 5, Osogbo local government area of Osun state around 12pm thugs tried to disrupt the election but were rebuffed by a combined team of security personnel who dispersed them by firing gunshots in the air.
