Buhari, Atiku others must name their ministers before election- Rewane

The CEO Financial Derivatives, Bismarck Rewane on Monday said that President Muhammadu Buhari, Atiku Abubakar, and other presidential contenders should be compelled to make public the names of their ministerial nominees before elections.

Rewane who made the assertion when he featured on Channels Television programme, Sunrise noted that he expects 2019 elections will be different from 2015 because Nigerians will not vote for change will just for the sake of the word.

According to him, while the incumbent will be under show what has been accomplished, the challengers will also be asked questions.

Rewane said, “I think both of them are experienced, both of them are competent, both of them are advanced in age, both of them have multiple backgrounds, they have been in government at different times.”

“In 2014, everybody said let’s just have a change, but now, it is not just change for the sake of change. You must have a programme, which is investor friendly, market-friendly, and people friendly.

“The question of hiding your cabinet, and telling us after you win is over. Both Buhari and Atiku and the leading contenders will have to tell us who their team is, so we can evaluate them and see if they are going to perform.”

Rewane, however, concluded that the current competitive political environment for who gets the country’s top job in 2019 is good for the people.
