The national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshimhole on Wednesday claimed that Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is working for the interest of foreigners and not Nigerians.

The former governor of Edo state who made the claim at the Abakaliki township stadium in Ebonyi during the APC presidential campaign said,  Atiku was courting the support of some western governments who have been angling to take over exploit the country’s economy.
According to him, Atiku’s deference to western interests would have a negative effect on the economy and pauperise Nigerians.

Oshiomhole said, “The right to defend Nigeria’s sovereignty is not negotiable.”
Describing the 2019 election as a fight between the elites and the poor, called on the people to reject Atiku, insisting that foreign nations can not impose a leader on Nigerians.

Buhari who was endorsed by traditional rulers in Ebonyi state earlier in the day thanked Ebonyi people for turning out in large numbers to welcome him.

He urged the people to vote for him to continue with the “good work” his administration has started.

He said, “What this administration is doing and what it will continue to do, if you vote me back is to make sure we realize the potential of our people and the resources God has given us to make life better for this country, for our future generations.”
