Bandits, mob kill 26 in Zamfara

About twenty-six persons were killed on Tuesday morning following a clash between mobs and bandits in Kabaje and Tunga communities of Kauran Namoda local government area of Zamfara state.

It was gathered the attacks occurred around 5am.

According to reports, the attacks which occurred around 5am, was triggered by the killing the child of one of the bandits, identified as Anas and three others.

The bandits allegedly mobilised and killed 23 persons in a reprisal attack few minutes later.

Anas said to be a resident of unguwar Sarki in Kabaje was suspected to be one of the informants to the bandits.

Chairman of Kaura Namoda local government Alhaji Lawal Abdullahi confirmed the incident.
