S’court strikes Ned Nwoko’s suit, returns Nwaoboshi as Senator

The supreme court on Tuesday dismissed two suits filed by Ned Nwoko challenging the election of Peter Nwaoboshi as senator representing Delta north.

Justice Inyang Okoro-led five-man panel dismissed the suits for lack of jurisdiction.

Nwoko had earlier filed the suit challenging the emergence of Nwaoboshi as candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the October 2, 2018, primary of the party held in Delta state at Abuja high court.

The court subsequently quashed the election of Nwaoboshi on the grounds that he was not the duly elected candidate of the PDP in the primary election and declared Nwoko the elected Senator.

Dissatisfied with the judgement, Nwaobishi appealed the judgment and was returned Nwaobishi as senator for Delta-north.
