The Department of State Service (DSS) on Tuesday filed an application before a federal high court in Abuja, seeking to detain Omoyele Sowore, convener of the #RevolutionNow movement, for 90 days pending the conclusion of its investigation.
In an ex parte motion with marked FHC/ABJ/CS/915/19, G. O Agbadua, counsel to the DSS, told the court that the agency needed the period to investigate Sowore.
A video clip evidence was attached to the DSS application.
After listening to the motion which was moved by the counsel to the DSS, Justice Taiwo Taiwo said he will need time to watch the video clips attached to the motion.
He, thereafter, adjourned ruling to Thursday, August 8.
Sowore was arrested in Lagos on Saturday morning by DSS operatives and was subsequently moved to Abuja.
The Sahara Reporters publisher was arrested for spearheading the #RevolutionNow movement which called for a nationwide protest against the government of president Muhammadu Buhari.
