Passenger dies while boarding a flight at MMA after receiving news of wife’s death

Ebun Francis|A 44- year-old passenger, Jude Oladapo on Saturday slumped and died while undergoing boarding procedures at Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

The deceased was said to have slumped suddenly when he received the news of the death of his wife.

The spokesman for the MMIA police command, Joseph Alabi, said the late Oladapo was waiting to board an Air France flight out of the country but was confirmed dead by Ajayi Olamide, a medical doctor at the MMIA medical clinic minutes after he slumped.

The corpse of the deceased had been deposited at the Air Force hospital mortuary.

Meanwhile the the command has dismissed reports which claimed that a Royal Air Maroc aircraft, with registration number CN-ROR, was burgled while landing at MMIA last Friday.

The command spokesman in a statement, while dismissing the claim, said investigation confirmed that all necessary security landing procedures were observed.

He said, “There is a standard procedure, which includes an escort vehicle following an aircraft that is landing, which will make it difficult for any invader to approach the aircraft.”

“The aviation security officials confirmed that they arrived at the aircraft with its baggage cabin door already opened which might have been due to other factors.”
