Ebun Francis| Alfa Babatunde, The general overseer of Sotitobire Miracle Center, Akure, Alfa Babatunde was on Monday remanded at Olokuta Correctional Centre over the missing one-year-old boy, Gold Kolawole.
Baby Kolawole went missing in his church recently.
Babatunde was arraigned alongside six others by the Department of State Services (DSS) before an Akure magistrate’s court on two counts of felony and kidnap.
The others arraigned with him include, Grace Ogunjobi, Esther Kayode, Omodara Olayinka, Margaret Oyebola, Egunjobi Motunrayo, and Peter Anjorin.
At the end of Monday’s court session, Babatunde was ordered into a van better known as “Black Maria”.
He is being tried in connection with the disappearance of the one-year-old boy inside his Church after the mother dropped him at the creche section of the church.
Babatunde was arrested by the DSS following a petition by the parents of the missing child.
Angry youths last week torched the church following rumors that the missing child was buried at the church’s altar.
But Ondo police spokesman, Femi Joseph, however, denied the rumour, blaming fake news for burning of the church.
