The federal high court in Abuja, has ordered the arrest of Abdullahi Dikko, a former Comptroller General of the Nigeria Customs Service.
In a ruling on Monday, presiding judge, Ijeoma Ojukwu issued the bench warrant against him for his continued absence in court over corruption charges instituted against him and two others by the ICPC.
The judge refused to accept the explanation of Solomon Akuma (SAN) his lawyer’s (who had earlier pledged to produce him in court) that the defendant was ill and on admission in London.
The medical report he presented, to justify his client’s absence from court was rejected by the judge.
