By our reporter| Kaduna state house of assembly members on Tuesday elected Yusuf Zilani, the member representing Igabi constituency as the new speaker of the house.
The new speaker was elected by his colleagues during plenary.
Zilani’s emergence follows the resignation of the former Speaker, Aminu Shagali, representing Sabon-Gari Constituency.
Although the former Speaker did not give any reason for his resignation, unconfirmed report suggests that members of the House were poised to impeach him before his resignation.
Until his emergence, Zilani was the deputy speaker of the Assembly.
