Malami denies involvment in Sanusi’s removal and banishment

Yusuf Bello| The attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, Abubakar Malami, attorney-general of the Federation (AGF), on Sunday denied any involment in the removal and banishment of former Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II.

Sanusi was dethroned as emir of Kano, and banished to Awe in Nasarawa state but a federal high court in Abuja, on Friday ordered his release.

An aide of the dethroned Emir on Saturday alleged that Malami ordered the detention of Sanusi.

But in a statement on Sunday, Malami, through Umar Gwandu, his spokesman, while denying any involvment, the minister, however, said he will not comment further on the development since it is already in court.
