By our reporter| Lagos State government on Saturday announced the death of another COVID-19 patient, bringing the total number of deaths in the state to 19.
The state ministry of health made the disclosure via its verified Twitter hours after the NCDC confirmed 80 new cases of the highly contagious virus in the state.
The Nigeria health agency had on Friday confirmed 114 new cases in the country.
Of the 114 cases, Lagos has 80, Gombe has 21, the FCT has five, two cases each were recorded in Zamfara and Edo, while Ogun, Oyo, Kaduna and Sokoto have one case each.
Nigeria’s total confirmed cases now stand at 1,095, out of which 208 cases have been discharged, with 32 deaths recorded.
