Oyo discharges 95 COVID-19 patients

By our reporter| Oyo state government on Saturday said it discharged ninety-five coronavirus patients following their recovery from the dreaded virus.

The number represents thee highest single day recovery in the state.

Governor Seyi Makinde who made the disclosure via his Twitter handle while giving an update on the outbreak of the disease in the state.

The governor further explained that the recovered persons were discharged from the government’s facility after their second COVID-19 test results came out negative.

According him, this brings the total number of COVID-19 patients discharged in the state to 271.

He, however, disclosed that the results of the confirmation test for 35 suspected cases of COVID-19 in the state came back positive and added that the new cases were reported from nine local government areas of the state.

They include Ido (seven), Ibadan South-West (five), Ibadan North (five), Ibadan North-West (five), Oluyole (three), Ibadan North East (three), Ibadan South East (three), Egbeda (three), and Ogbomosho North (one).
