Geoffrey Onyeama, Nigeria’s foreign affairs minister tests positive for COVID-19

Yusuf Bello| The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, has tested positive for COVID-19.

Onyema who made the disclosure himself via his Twitter handle on Sunday, said he tested positive after his fourth COVID-19 test on Saturday after he developed symptoms of a throat irritation.

He further stated that he is now heading for isolation in a health facility.

He tweeted, “Did my fourth COVID-19 test yesterday at the first sign of a throat irritation and unfortunately this time it came back positive.

“That is life! win some lose some. Heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best,” the Minister said.

The minister joins the growing list of Nigerians who has tested positive to highly contagious disease despite the precautions put in place across the country.

As of today, 36, 107 Nigerians has been in fected by COVI-19.
