Police arrest two for allegedly defrauding German company of €14.7m

By our reporter| The Nigeria Police Force on Sunday said it arrested two suspects for defrauding a German company of €14.7m.

The suspects – Babatunde Adesanya and Akinpelu Hassan Abass, are members of a sophisticated transnational criminal network.

This was disclosed by the Force spokesman, Frank Mba, in a statement issued on Sunday.

The suspects were said to have cloned the corporate website of ILBN Holdings BV, Holland to transact with and defraud one Freiherr Fredrick Von Hahn, a representative of the German State of North Rhine-Westphalia.

Mba explained that the fraud bordered on the procurement of COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
