Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Sunday recorded 79 new cases of the novel coronavirus, the country’s lowest figure in several months.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) made the disclosure via a statement on its verified Twitter andle on Sunday night.
According to the NCDC, Lagos recorded 30 new cases, followed by Kaduna with 17, Ogun, 7, Anambra, 5, Kano 4, Katsina, the FCT and Akwa Ibom, recorded 3 cases each, while Oyo and Rivers recorded 2 cases, with Delta, Plateau and Ondo recording one infection each.
The new cases now bring the number of confirmed infections in the country to 56,256.
44,152 have recovered and been discharged from isolation centers, while 1,082 have died.
