Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Friday confirmed 221 new coronavirus cases bringing the country’s virus load to 56,956.
The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC) which made the disclosure on Friday night via its verified Twitter handle, said the new cases were reported in 16 states and the FCT.
According to the health agency, Lagos recorded 59 new cases, followed by Abia-46, FCT-22, Gombe-20, Plateau-17, Rivers-11, and
Bauchi-7.
Other states with new infections include, Benue-6, Ekiti-6, Imo-6
Kaduna-4, Kwara-4, Ondo-4, Ogun-3, Osun-3, and Bayelsa-1.
The NCDC further noted that so far 48,305 persons have recovered from the disease with 1,094 fatalities.
