By our reporter| Re-elected governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki, on Friday met with the President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Obaseki met the President on what he called a “thank you visit”, accompanied by his wife, his deputy, and his wife, and, some lawmakers from Edo state.
Answering questions from State House correspondents at the end of the meeting with the President, Obaseki said it would be immoral for him to return to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
The governor and his deputy decamped from the APC and joined the PDP in the run up to last Saturdays election after the ruling party disqualified him from participating in its primary election.
There have been speculations that Obaseki may return to the ruling party having won the election on the platform of the PDP.
