Nigeria’s coronavirus burden exceeds 60,000 with 111 new infections

Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Saturday confirmed 111 new coronavirus infections, bringing the country’s case load to 60, 103.

In a statement via its verified Twitter handle late Saturday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) said the new infections were recorded positive samples in 10 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).

According to the date from the health agency, Plateau recorded the highest figure with 32 case, followed by Lagos with 23, and FCT 15.

Other states with new infections include, Osun-11, Ogun-9, Oyo-6, Imo-4, Bauchi-3, Kaduna-3, Yobe-3, and Rivers-2.

The NCDC further noted that so far, 51,711 persons have recovered from the disease with 1,115 deaths.
