Medical experts concerned as Nigeria confirms 343 new #COVID-19 cases

Chidi Samuel| Medical experts have expressed concern over the rising number of the novel coronavirus in the country as the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control on Thursday said 343 new cases of the highly contagious virus was recorded.

According to the health agency, Thursday’s figure brings to 68,303 the total number of people infected with the virus in the country.

The agency further revealed that so far, 64,291 persons have recovered from the disease with 1,179 deaths recorded.

In a Tweet via its verified Twitter handle late on Thursday night, the NCDC said the new infections were reported in 14 states and the FCT, with the Federal Capital Territory recording 123 new cases followed by Lagos-106, Kaduna-72, and Nasarawa-14.

Other states with new infections include, Rivers-5, Bauchi-4, Imo-4,
Ogun-4, Ekiti-3, Edo-2, Oyo-2, Plateau-2, Akwa Ibom-1, and Kano-1.
