By our reporter| President Muhammadu Buhari will address a joint session of the National Assembly on Thursday December 10, presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, has said.
Onochie made the disclosure in a post on her social media handle on Monday.
She said, President @MBuhari will address a joint Session of the National Assembly (@nassnigeria) on Thursday 10th December, 2020.
Even though the content of the address has not been made the public, it is, however, expected to focus on rising level of insecurity in the country which has dominated headlines recently with the recent killing of over 43 rice farmers in Bornu state by the Boko Haram insurgents.
Alabingo.com reported last Tuesday that the House of Representatives had invited the President to appear on the floor of the lower chamber of the National Assembly to speak on the rising insecurity in the country, following a motion of urgent national importance moved by the Borno State caucus on the killing of farmers in the state.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, had earlier said that President Buhari had agreed to appear before the lower chamber while fielding questions from State House reporters last Wednesday after leading a delegation of its leadership for a meeting with the President at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
