Ondo polytechnic student macheted to death

By our reporter| A yet to be identified student of Ondo State-owned Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, in Owo was macheted to death on Wednesday.

The Public Relations Officer of the institution, Samuel Ojo, who confirmed the incident, said the cause of the death of the student is, however, yet to be known.

The incident also coincides with the Students Union Government election of the polytechnic.

But the PRO dismissed rumours that the killing might be connected with the SUG election, saying there was no evidence for that and that the killing happened outside the polytechnic campus.

The spokesperson of Ondo state police command, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro, however, said the command was yet to be briefed about the incident as at the time of filing this report.
