Chidi Samuel| Nigeria on Saturday confirmed 1,143 new cases of the novel coronavirus with 13 deaths recorded across the country.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control in a statement via its verified Twitter handle said Lagos reported eight of the 13 deaths taking its overall deaths so far to 370.
Edo and Enugu States recorded two deaths each. While Rivers posted one death, taking its total to 88.
According to the NCDC, Lagos which reported 1,040 recoveries also recorded 319 new infections, followed by the FCT-157, Kwara-90, Oyo-74, Enugu-72, Nasarawa-69, and
Imo-58.
Other states with new infections include, Osun-51, Gombe-49, Kaduna-31, Edo-23, Katsina-23, Kebbi-23, Ogun-22, Kano-19, Rivers-19, Ebonyi-18, Plateau-14, Delta-7, and Ekiti-5.
The health agency further noted that so far, Nigeria has 145,664 confirmed cases of the highly contagious virus, with 120, 399 recoveries, and 1,747 deaths.
