Relief as Nigeria’s new COVID-19 infections declines to 120 cases

Chidi Samuel| The decline in the number of new coronavirus cases continued on Sunday as the country recorded 120 new cases.

The Nigeria Centre For Disease Control in a statement on Sunday said the new cases were recorded in 14 states and the FCT.

According to the update, Lagos, the epicentre of the outbreak in the country recorded 32 new infections, followed by Rivers-25, Kaduna-20, and Bayelsa-13.

Other states with new infections include, Kano-7, Jigawa-5, Borno-5, Abia-4, Oyo-3, Plateau-2, FCT-1, Ogun-1, Imo-1, and Nasarawa-1.

The health agency further noted that so far, Nigeria has 160,657 confirmed cases of the highly contagious virus, with 145,399 recoveries, and 2,013 deaths.
