By our reporter/ Three students of Dowen College are in custody of the Lagos state police command over the death of Sylvester Oromoni Jnr.
According to family sources the students were taken into custody on Tuesday morning and are being grilled by detectives.
The state commissioner of police, Hakeem Odumosu also confirmed the arrest of three out of the five students allegedly implicated by the deceased.
Odumosu also added that the suspects are assisting the police in their investigation.
The police boss had earlier ordered an investigation into Oromoni’s death while Dowen College was also sealed off last Sunday.
Before his death, Oromoni had named five students who he claimed had attacked him in his dormitory room, inflicting on him multiple internal injuries.
The family of the deceased student had following his death, alleged that he was beaten and fed a liquid chemical.
But the school dismissed the claim, alleging that he sustained injuries while playing football with his colleagues.
On Monday, Femi Falana, human rights lawyer, called for a coroner’s inquest into the circumstances surrounding Oromoni’s demise.
