By our reporter/ Gunmen on Sunday abducted Uche Nwosu, the former governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Imo in the 2019 governorship election.
Nwosu is the son-in-law of Rochas Okorocha, a senator and former governor of Imo state, was reportedly ceased inside St. Peter’s Anglican Church, Umunwokwe village Eziama-Obaire Nkwerre LGA of Imo Stat during the thanksgiving outing service in honour of his late mother, Jemaimah Adaeze Nwosu, buried on Wednesday.
Gunmen earlier on Sunday also abducted Charles Mato, the Sum Pyem and paramount ruler of Gindri, in Mangu LGA of Plateau.
According to Ishaku Takwa, media officer of operation safe haven (OPSH), the military task force maintaining peace in the state, the traditional ruler was abducted at his residence at Gindiri.
He said troops of the task force had been mobilised to the area to conduct search and rescue.
