IPOB engages Ozekhome to defend Nnamdi Kanu

By our reporter/ The Biafra separatist group IPOB), has engaged the services of Mike Ozekhome, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) to defend it’s leader, Nnamdi kanu.

Kanu is standing trial on charges bordering on treasonable felony.

Ifeanyi Ejiofor who confirmed that Ozekhome is now the lead counsel for the incarcerated IPOB leader, arrived the federal high court, Abuja in company of the senior advocate.

Ozekhome while speaking with journalists shortly after arriving at the court confirmed he is now a member of Kanu’s legal team.

“Yes, I’m now in the legal team and that’s why you’re seeing me in court,” he told reporters.

Kanu arrived at the court earlier on Tuesday with roads leading to the court blocked by operatives of the Department of the State Services (DSS) to ward off possible threats to life and businesses by hoodlums.

The federal government on Monday filed eight fresh charges bordering on terrorism against the IPOB leader who was re-arraigned in October 2021 on a seven-count charge.

He is expected to take his plea on the new charges at today’s hearing.
