By our reporter| The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and one of the front runners in the 2023 presidential election, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, over the weekend described himself as a youth.
Tinubu, who made the comment amid the clamour for young persons to take power,
affirmed he has the energy to lead the country, adding that he is capable of serving Nigeria and making the country great.
He further stated that the ruling APC will continue to protect the interest of Nigerians, home and abroad.
“I’m here standing before you… and I’m a youth,” Tinubu told his supporters.
Ahead of the 2023 elections, Nigerian youths have been agitating for transfer of power to younger generation.
Addressing this when he visited a South West monarch earlier in the month, Tinubu had said he wants the youths to be president of Nigeria, but that would happen after his tenure.
“If you become the President, you want to chase us from the streets? You’ll become old and be president but after me,” the former Lagos governor had said.
