Osinbajo, Tunde Bakare purchase APC nomination forms, as Amosun joins presidential race

By our reporter| The Osinbajo support groups on Thursday picked nomination and expression of interest forms for Vice President Yemi Osinbajo in Abuja.

The forms will enable him contest in the All Progressives Congress’ presidential primaries.

The forms was obtained on behalf of the Vice President by Senator Kabiru Gaya, who represents Kano-South in the Senate, and the Coordinator of Osinbajo Support Groups.

The forms cost N100 million.

Laolu Akande, spokesman of the vice-president, confirmed the development in a series of tweets on Thursday.

“A passionate team of support groups and individual Nigerians from across the country have raised funds to support the purchase of APC nomination forms for the Vice President’s 2023 presidential bid,” he tweeted.

“Today, the forms have been collected by representatives of the team just as the VP continues his interactions with APC stakeholders across the states.

“Today, he is in Cross River and Bayelsa states. It’s all about the desire and resolve of the VP to serve the people of Nigeria with all his heart, experience, and insights.”

Tunde Bakare, the overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church, also purchased the forms.

Meanwhile, former governor of Ogun State, Ibikunle Amosun on Thursday officially declared to run for President in 2023.

Amosun, who made the declaration in Abuja during a televised event, unveiled an eight-point agenda through which, if elected, is expected to transform the country’s fortunes.

“The two pillars of the agenda that I will elaborate in the weeks ahead are national security and economic development,” he said.

“Upon these two pillars, we will create a national architecture for human flourishing that is unprecedented in our national history.

“Based on these two pillars, we will erect a national agenda which, apart from national security and economic development, will include healthcare, education agriculture and food security, infrastructural rural and urban development, technology, innovation, and digital economy, and nation building.

“Guided by the unprecedented investment in human security, the integration of the eight areas of this carefully planned agenda for national reawakening will, within four years, unleash unparalleled human resource that will make Nigeria proud of their motherland.

“It bears repeating that Nigeria has the required manpower, both at home and abroad to accomplish this agenda. Under my leadership, we will mobilise Nigeria’s immense human and natural resouces to rebuild our education sector, healthcare, infrastructure, including electricity, roads, and water supply.
