Bandits free daughter of abducted Kadpoly lecturer after 38 days in captivity

By our reporter| The daughter of the abducted Kaduna Kadpoly lecturer, Dr. Ramatu Abarshi, Ameerah, has regained freedom after spending 38 days in the bandits’ den.

Dr. Abarshi, her daughter, and their driver, Ibrahim, were abducted on April 24, 2022, along Kachia-Kaduna Highway while returning from a Charity mission.

According to a family source, Ameerah regained her freedom on Tuesday and moved to an undisclosed hospital for medical check up.

Her mother, Dr. Abarshi was released about three weeks ago, while the driver regained his freedom last week.

“Yes, the daughter Ameerah was released on Tuesday evening; she reunited with her family before being taken to an undisclosed hospital for medical attention. It was not easy but we thanked God she is back home safely,” the family source.

The abductors also told reporters that the bandits collected ransom that ran into millions.
