Alhaji Ahmed Joda, a veteran journalist and public administrator, three Governors and five other prominent Nigerians were Wednesday announced as the winners of the year 2016 Zik Prize award by the Public Policy Research And Analysis Centre.
Joda was named winner of the Prize in the Public Service Category alongside Mrs Chinelo Anohu-Amazu, the Director General of National Pension Commission. Governors Umar Ganduje of Kano, Dave Umahi of Ebonyi and Kashim Shetima of Bornu won the Good Governance Category while Sir Kensington Adebutu, Chairman of Premier motors and Businessman Dan Chukwudozie emerged winners in the Business Leadership category. Godwin Emefiele, the CBN Governor and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu equally emerged winners in the Professional and Humanitarian categories respectively.
The winners of the 2016 Zik Prize awards were announced in Lagos on Wednesday by a member of the Advisory Board of the PPRAC, Prof Pat Utomi. The award was instituted 23 years ago in honour of Nigeria’s first President, Commander of the Armed Forces, the late Rt. Honourable Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe to encourage and nurture leadership on the African continent and in the diaspora.
