Our reporter/ Ifeoma, wife of Orji Uzor Kalu, chief whip of the senate, and former governor of Abia state, is dead.
The passing of the former Abia state First Lady was announced by Kalu in a Facebook post on Monday.
She was 61.
The details about her death was not disclosed in the post but a memorial service would be held in her honour in the US, according to the post.
“With a heavy heart and pain, we announce the passing on to eternal glory of Mrs Ifeoma Ada Kalu aged 61 years,” he said.
“She was a woman of virtue who was committed to the service of God and humanity. A memorial service in her honour is scheduled to be held in the United States of America (USA).
“Please remember her and loved ones in prayers at this difficult period. May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace. Amen.”
