UPDATED: Supreme court offices razed in early morning fire

Our reporter/ Nigeria’s supreme court building at Three Arms Zone in Abuja is currently on fire with offices of some justices completely destroyed.

Alabingo.com can confirm that three offices have already been razed completely and the fire is still raging.

According to eyewitness account, the fire started in the chamber of Ibrahim Saulawa, one of the supreme court justices.

According to a source, Saulawa’s chamber was completely destroyed.

The Public Relations Officer for the Court, Mr Festus Akande, who confirmed the incident, said the cause of the fire was electrical from one of the Chambers of the Justices and was put out with the use of fire extinguishers.

He described as “Fake news ” the stories making the rounds on social media that there are casualties.

A source who chose to remain anonymous said the fire started around 6 am.

It was gathered that the cleaners on duty and some of the workers who resumed early for work detected the fire and raised the alarm.

The workers were said to have used the fire extinguishers in the building to combat the fire.
