Names of CBN directors sacked by Cardoso

Our reporter/ The retrenchment of staff embarked upon by the Yemi Cardoso led management continued on Friday as 14 of the 17 directors who initially survived the ongoing purge at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) have been disengaged.

Following the reforms embarked by Yemi Cardoso, the apex bank governor, that led to the pruning the staff, some senior personnel from the era of Godwin Emefiele were spared in the massive retrenchment.

However, they were recently shown the exit door.

The total number of affected staff is nearly 600, according to CBN sources who revealed that virtually all those working in the Governor’s Directorate have been sacked.

It was learnt that the engagement letters of additional 200 have been signed, and would be issued to the affected staff in the coming days.
